Our management team is balanced between entrepreneurship, creativity and production. The group has extensive experience in development of video games, software and networked applications. Our background in international business and development of distributed teams provides a solid foundation on which RNJ can grow and thrive.

Randy Fish   Chief Technology Officer close

Most recently Randy was a lead engineer at Rich Relevance, where he helped build the engine that is used to provide SAAS recommendations and personalization for top eCommerce sites like Sears.com, Walmart.com and Overstock.com.  Before that he was Director of Desktop Engineering at Simple Devices which was sold to Universal Electronics (NASDAQ: UEIC). Previously he was a lead engineer at GetFit.com.  A B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford under his belt, Randy is bringing his experience as a software engineer as well as his leadership role with teams of varying sizes and stages to the social gaming industry.  Randy brings the discipline and structure of agile development and a focus on quality to Rocket Ninja, where he is excited to combine his life-long passion for gaming with his experience building scalable software solutions.

  

Alex Dailey   Chief Product Officer close

Alex Dailey brings to Rocket Ninja a love for 3D technology and a passion for analytics that drive strategic and engineering insight. Alex joins Rocket Ninja from five years at Linden Lab, the makers of the 3D virtual world, Second Life. At Linden he managed the Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams, helping scale analysis and data architecture from startup levels to a million monthly actives. His analytic experience covers top level Customer Lifecycle Management optimization, retention and monetization modeling, virtual goods and user created content, as well as deep engineering analytics on service performance and stability. Alex holds a Master of Information Management and Systems from the School of Information at UC Berkeley. 

  

Steve Matthews   Head of 3D Tech close

Steve Matthews brings to Rocket Ninja 17 years of software engineering experience. After receiving his computer science degree from Stanford University in 1993, Steve worked for IBM, where he served as a lead software engineer and UI designer for marketing and communications applications. Matthews has since lent his development expertise to several start-up web and game companies in the Bay Area, including NBCi, MightyMail, Oompala and Sven Technologies.   In 1998 Matthews received a Masters in computer science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he specialized in 3D graphics and animation.  In 2001, Steve cofounded SuperEgo Games, where he served as lead engineer until 2009, building games including “Barbie Mystery Diaries" for Activision and "Rat Race", an episodic 3D interactive sitcom for Sony.  Steve has overseen the architecture and implementation of five game engines for the PC, PS3 and web.

  

Marc Tanenbaum   Lead Game Architect close

Marc Tanenbaum has developed games, websites and applications in Flash and Flash-related technologies for the past decade, including titles for PBSKidsDiscovery Science, and many museums across the US. He served as Lead Developer at Red Hill Studios, Senior Flash Developer at Picsel Technologies in Scotland, and Lead Flash Developer at Slide. When he's not coding, rock climbing or tormenting his nephews, he can usually be found sampling single malt (and, when occasion allows, single cask) whiskies.
